Dont
Touch Me
Our friend Sam Sikes at Learning Unlimited introduced
us to this event. Dont Touch Me will challenge
the team to think outside the box and test the actual
and implied rules. Warning: this event can lead to
major paradigm shift. Once a team discovers the self-imposed
rules they will begin to see the solutions. [top]
Giant
Key Punch
This event is designed to stimulate dialogue about
how team members work together to be more efficient
and effective. This event could reveal some learning
related to continual improvement. What is the best
way for this team to get the job done? They may learn
the answer after this activity. [top]
Leader
Walk
This is one of the most powerful and, ironically,
one of the simplest events. Leader Walk is about leading,
following, trusting and communicating. Many leadership
styles emerge during this event. Some find it difficult
to be responsible for another persons safety
and others find it exhilarating. To trust or give
up control can be very hard for some people. Whatever
the experience, the leader walk is a powerful learning
opportunity. [top]
Square
Rope
The Square Rope is another easy event that can be
very powerful. The leadership that will emerge and
the group participation (or lack thereof) will always
reveal interesting insights and draw out learning
from the team members. Interdependence is clear in
this activity and group consensus can be difficult
to reach, but very important. [top]
Stepping
Stones
The application of the Stepping Stones is in every
area of our lives. The learning each group comes up
with is always different. The basic purpose of the
maze comes down to identifying how the team is treating
its mistakes (Beeps) and the people who
are discovering them. Stepping into the unknown is
necessary for any team to grow and move ahead, with
the only question being how are they doing in the
process? This event will shed some light on the teams
process. [top]
Team
Handcuffs
The purpose of this exercise is to challenge a teams
belief that something is impossible. It is also a
great way to explore peoples willingness to
ask for help or give help if it would benefit the
whole team. Paradigm shift may result. It is a great
leverage point to come back to if other paradigm shifts
need to happen with the group. [top]
Turnstile
Jumprope
Turnstile Jump Rope can be used as an ice breaker
or as an event, depending on how difficult you want
to make the activity. Personal and team coordination
will be put to the test as the team tries to jump,
dodge, or skip its way through the turnstile. This
event is also a great way to get people moving and
the entire team involved. [top]
