Your
team can go as cuckoo as a loon during this unique
experience! The team is divided into flocks - bluebirds,
ravens, canaries - they get to choose the species.
Following
a few soaring activities to stretch the teams’
wings the resident expert from the Audubon Society
briefs the flocks on the native or migratory birds
for whom your flocks will make a home, and describe
the charity group selected to receive the finished
birdhouses.
Aside
from a few building codes to follow, the sky's the
limit on creativity and ingenuity. Your birds will
have available a rich assortment of items in ‘Birdie
Depot’ to adorn their winged mansions: shingles,
mini picket fences, weather vanes, marbles, chains,
mood rings, lace, and last but by no means least,
a plentiful supply of guano. (Just kidding about
the guano.)
After
the houses are complete the flocks fly the coop
and flutter their way to the awards ceremony where
they chirp for the most creative, most livable,
most durable, most lovable birdhouses, and flap
their wings in appreciation of the outstanding teams.
The
finished birdhouses will be donated as prizes for
fundraising events to pay for such things as nature
hikes and bird-watching tours for 4th to 6th grade
inner-city youth.
When
the day is done and your flock members wing off
to roost they'll have taken with them the seeds
of camaraderie, the knowledge of problem solving,
enhanced communication, creative thinking skills,
and the joy and satisfaction of knowing they have
made a difference.
